> From intention to reality

The main goal of this Project was the creation of a new concept of urban furniture, within a clearly defined context like that one of the town of Hondarribia. Still, the result goes further that this context. At the end of the day, it is an urban element that agrees with the identity of any coastal town.

> Analysis

The analysis carried on this Project has been supported mainly on two basics: observation and reflection. The objective was to get to know and understand the inhabitants of the town, their needs, their concerns, behaviors… in one word, an analysis carried on the streets of the town, in collaboration with some colleagues from different areas of the Human Sciences, such as psychologists, anthropologists, etc.

> Statement 01: Re[na]tour [back to nature cycles]

This street furniture will live conditioned to the cycles of the Nature, transmitting its users the everchanging sensations of every situation. Thus, this furniture turns into a cord blood (Zilborrerstea, in Basque language) between the citizen and the Nature.

> Statement 02: marine furniture

Coastal towns have lived, historically, facing the sea, both from an economic and a social point of view. Therefore, why not propose an urban marine furniture?

> Statement 03: to meditate, to share, to group together

What can the urban furniture possibly offer the citizen these days? Between all possible answers, 3 have been selected in this project: space for reflection (personal), space to share (couple), meeting space (group).
